Frontline Flea


Your dog is not capable of looking after its hygiene on its own. They require help from us to keep them healthy and free from fleas and ticks that can cause diseases and can also be fatal for them. Hence, it is very important that we have the right information and use the products in the right way. Fleas are a very common problem in dogs and are prevalent mainly in summer and spring seasons.

Effects of Fleas...

-Fleas can cause scratching, itching, and lots of discomfort to your dog.
-Fleas do not only stay on your dog but also jump around and hence spread in your home.
-They can then cause itching in humans as well and is also very unhygienic for you as well as your kids.
-They cause a condition called as flea allergy dermatitis

Flea control then...

Earlier there were not many options and using of flea control powders and collars were very common. The collars are considered as poison straps around your dog's neck and are strongly not recommended. The powders too are not of much help. They make a mess while applying them to your dog and can be consumed easily as they can easily lick themselves. The advance of scientific methods has led to a safer and healthier option.

Flea control now...

You are advised to start using flea control before they are even infected by them. You can start as soon as your puppy is eight weeks old. If your dog is already infected with fleas, it is better if you can start the treatment as soon as possible. Now days, the products differ on the size of the dogs. The bigger the dog, the larger the quantity of the tube that has to be applied. They come as follows.

3 and 6 Pack Frontline Spot-small dogs
This comes in a gold/orange box and is for small dogs that weigh up to 10kgs. It comes in two packets of three or six and have to be applied every month and the quantity is 0.67ml.

3 and 6 Pack Frontline Spot-medium dogs
This comes in a blue colour box and in a packet sufficient for either three or six months. It is meant for medium sized dogs that weigh between 10-20kgs. The quantity of this tube is 1.34ml.

3 and 6 Pack Frontline Spot-large dogs
This comes in a purple colour box and a packet adequate for three or six months. This is for large dogs that weigh anywhere between 20-40kgs. The quantity for the large dogs is 2.68ml.

3 and 6 Pack Frontline Spot-extra large dogs
The colour for the extra large dogs is red. The weight of these dogs can be anywhere between 40-60kgs and the quantity for the tube is 4.02ml. This also comes in two packs of three and six and to be applied every month.

Before you start using these products, try and consult a vet as some of the dogs are sensitive to alcohol and insecticide.
